GPS - abbreviation of the Global Positioning System, a system of using guidance signals transmitted by satellites. Using these systems GPS navigation devices GPS continuously receives their exact position on the globe inland.
GPRS - method to transfer the packages of data that makes it possible permanent connection to the Internet via a mobile network. Using the general packet ratio service (GPRS) function, the data are sent in the form of packages with maximum speeds of 53.6 kbps.
GSM - global system for mobile communications - a system of mobile digital operating in 900 MHz frequencies (gsm900), 1800 MHz (gsm1800) and 1900 MHz (gsm1900) on the basis of cards with their own memory called SIM card (subscriber identity module), offering user identity in network with a phone number assigned.
GPS localization (fleet localization, car tracking, GPS monitoring, auto tracking, fleet or AVL tracking) - search in real time of motor vehicles using GPS location and transmission of data through GPRS (GSM).
GPS - GPRS Monitoring (monitoring fleet, auto monitoring, GPS fleet management) - GPS solution which includes GPS location and GPS tracking both using digital maps, and also park management, getting specific reports about the company’s car fleet, using GPS equipment installed onboard.
CAN or CAN- bus (controller - area network) - Protocol designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within a vehicle without a host computer. CAN is a system of communication used in industrial automation in particular that is very little influenced by electromagnetic fluctuations.
FMS interface (fleet management system interface) – is a standard interface to vehicle data of commercial vehicles. The six European manufacturers Daimler AG, MAN AG, Scania, Volvo (incl. Renault), DAF Trucks and IVECO have developed the so called FMS-Standard to make manufacturer independent applications for telematics possible.

3. Which of the GPS - GPRS fleet monitoring solutions would be best suited to the car GPS location in case of theft?
TrackGPS Basic is the appropriate solution when only GPS location in case of theft is wished. If you need additional options you can choose one of the other solutions offered by AROBS.
4. Where is the fleet monitoring hardware device mounted in the car?
The device to GPS fleet monitor together with GPS and GSM antennas are mounted on the board of the machine which is wanted to be monitored.
5. Can the hardware device for GPS fleet monitoring be mounted on the board from a machine to another?
Yes, but attention this must be made by a specialized person or an authorized service.
6. What is the warranty period offered for GPS fleet monitoring hardware devices?

Using Timesheet report from Reports menu of TrackGPS Business Solution you can find out information about working periods (periods when the vehicle had the engine started being in movement or parked, for a selected time period). The report displays the time when the engine has been started for the first time, the time when the engine was last stopped that day, the time between the two events and the total time when the vehicle had its engine running.
8. Does your company fleet have cold-storage trucks? Do you want to know the temperature during transportation?
You can use ‘Temperature Sensor Report’ that displays the graphic of the temperature sensor in a chosen time interval.
9. Do you manage a car fleet for a construction materials producer/supplier? Do you want your products to be delivered in time and to optimize your drivers’ routes?
You can use one of the following reports: Address Proximity or Hotspot Proximity from TrackGPS Business Solution. The address proximity page offers you the possibility to identify the nearest vehicle towards a selected address. The Hot Spot Proximity page gives you the possibility to identify the closest vehicle to a certain hotspot.
10. Does your company rent different type of cars on short or medium terms? Do you want to be notified when the car is leaving an area or crosses the border?
Using TrackGPS Business you’ll get a SMS notification when one of your cars leaves the Romanian territory or a preset area.
11. Is the optimization of agents’ routes important to your meat producer/distribution company?
TrackGPS Business Solution has a special report for monitoring the number of visits that your agents pay to your clients: “Top Hot Spot Report” displays, for a chosen time interval, a top of the points of interest where the vehicle stopped for more than 5 minutes.

13. Can the driver notice the GPS fleet tracking device and find out that his car is being monitored?
The GPS fleet monitor device can be mounted on sight or hidden in board so that it cannot be noticed by the driver.
14. For how long are the data about the fleet monitoring stored on the server?
It depends on the solution used: 1 month for TrackGPS Basic, 3 months for Standard version and unlimited for business version.
15. The maps used by the GPS Fleet monitoring system and location are at the level of street and number?
The map used by the Auto fleet monitoring systems is detailed at the street level.
16. What happens when there is no GSM signal?
When there is no GSM signal, the addresses are memorized and at the time they enter the area with GSM signal all the data is transmitted so that the route will be displayed continuously.
17. The reports offered by the of fleet monitoring and location solution show the real consumption?
The devices that connect through can-bus to the board computer show the real consumption.
18. Can it detect fuel tank theft?
Yes. You must use TrackGPS Business solution with FMS – Can Bus device which connects to the computer on board.
19. Can the motor vehicles moving outside the country be monitored?
Yes. It is possible to monitor and obtain reports about cars moving outside country frontiers, differing only roaming tariffs.
20. Can the TrackGPS fleet monitoring solution be rented?
Yes. TrackGPS Business solution can be rented in exchange for levying a monthly rental fee charged for each car monitored.
